1. In what way’s does your media product use, develop or challenge form’s and convention’s of real media product’s?
Box-out – A small part of the page shaded in a different colour.
Caption – typed text under photographs explaining the image.

Crosshead – this is a subheading that appears in the body of the text and is centred above the column of text. If it is se to one side then it is called a side-head.

Exclusive – this means that newspaper and no one else solely cover the story. The paper will pay their interviewees, buying the story so it cannot be used by another paper.

Feature – not necessarily a ‘news’ item (current affairs), but usually with a human-interest angle presented as a spread.

Headline – this is the main statement, usually in the largest and boldest font, describing the main story. A banner headline spans the full width of the page.
Kicker – this is a story designed to stand out from the rest of the page by the use of a different font (typeface) and layout.

Lead Story – the main story on the front page, usually a splash.
Lure – a word or phrase directing the reader to look inside the paper at a particular story or feature.

Masthead – the masthead is the title block or logo identifying the newspaper at the top of the front-page. Sometimes an emblem or a motto is also placed within the masthead. The masthead is often set into a block of black or red print or boxed with a border; the ‘Red-tops’ (The Sun, The Mirror, The News of the World) are categorised by style and the use of a red background in the masthead.

Menu – the list of contents inside the paper.

Pugs – these are at the top left and right-hand corners of the paper and are known as the ‘ears’ of the page. The prices of the paper, the logo or a promotion are positioned there. They are well placed to catch the reader’s eye.
Secondary Lead – this is usually only a picture and headline, it gives a sneak preview of a story that you might find inside the paper.
Splash – the splash is the main story on the front of the paper. The largest headline will accompany this, along with a photograph.
Spread – a story that covers more than one page.

Stand first – this is an introductory paragraph before the start of the feature. Sometimes it may be in bold.

Strapline – this is an introductory headline below the headline.

Tag – a word or phrase used to engage a reader’s interest in a story by categorising it e.g. ‘Exclusive’, ‘Sensational’.

It is important that I received feedback from my audience because if I was to simply analyse my work I am bound to find greater positive qualities than the unpleasant features and here are the additional results I gathered from my audience I was unable to upload for ethic considerations reasons; As you have probably already established/ guessed , the feedback of my peers has been extremely important and beneficial to the production of my magazine also, and to fulfil the past research’s I must check to see if I have created the magazine I first began to dream off and also acknowledge the changes that have made. I have compiled a list of questions so that I could find out exactly what my target audience thought of my magazine; unfortunately I only created two possible answers so that the amount of outraged customers would be clear…if I was a professional distributor, unfortunately the people I asked where inconsistent on answering all the questions.

10. What possible improvements could you give to my magazine in the instance of me redesigning ? Here are some of the interesting feed back which was reputedly said, but of course in another form of way which closely resembles each other.
Change hose colour to maybe purple….yet masculine with the shade of blue.. and definitely add textures

After completing this questionnaire, I am quite disappointed for at first I expected great responses though with a good start I feel I could have achieved greater but still with the occasional pros from some students that enjoy the genre of my music the response was greater for the negatives were from the character that enjoyed music such as grime & Rock , which hugely reassured me on the effectiveness of my magazine, and I am extremely pleased with how well the age of my target audience has received it! Definitely a success within the audience I started but loosening its male audience.

The following double page spread though ideally perfect for its audience it seems we share similar text and as you may have guessed this article must be depression for it lacks light and the characters are moody and are even wearing a hood to hide certain features also giving a negative impression in some extent, we share the same text and this shocks me for it tells me that the text I used is boring and is even used to show so and next time I am to create I should do a typography research to find the perfect text! Also again this page holds page numbers which I fear I may have missed.

Now again I am comparing my double page article to again another immensely sophisticated magazine, this magazine teaches me a thing or 2 about how to create a successful magazine and in this case it seems my text is too large and child like for it seems we have a lazy writer, and I must stress how the border makes this image very boring! But I must say well-done to such useful background gradient which is nicely done and realistic to some extend, great text but could have been bolded to an extent of making it more prominent this I have failed through out my magazine.
Apart from that I have enjoyed the extra features which this writer/ editor has added truly sophisticated text and realistic and great how the text has conjured around the text leaving the image fresh though amateur this photographer is great in capturing emotions and expressing them with simple effects.
